The Growing Years of Burlington is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teachers to support the following age groups:
  • Toddler
To be QUALIFIED for the Lead Teacher opportunity, we require a high school diploma and the ability to pass all background checks. We required the completion of 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses. We prefer an associate's or a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a completed associate's or bachelor's degree with at least 12 credits of early childhood education or their equivalent. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Compensation: $15-$17 per hour, based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process for Early Childhood Teachers:
  1. Resume screen
  2. Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes)
  3. On-site interview with Center Director (30-60 minutes)

    2. Classroom observation
  4. Offer

Main Job Responsibilities for Lead Infant Teachers:
  • Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
  • Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
  • Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
  • Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
