The Media Technology team at Major League Baseball designs, develops and operates a global streaming platform that delivers baseball to every corner of the planet. Our award-winning ecosystem helps support all 30 MLB clubs, 120 MiLB teams, and enables millions of fans to access the game wherever they are. Located in our Los Angeles, CA office, we are seeking experienced and talented engineers to join our pioneering team to craft the future of sports entertainment. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with other world-class engineers, product developers, and designers to contribute and influence products across the baseball and streaming industry.ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize streaming experiences across web, mobile, and living room devicesParticipate in the full software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing and maintenance)Collaborate across teams, including front-end engineering, product and product management, backend services, and operations, to contribute to our video streaming initiatives and drive technical excellence and product developmentTake ownership of streaming products and develop tools to continuously improve stream quality/deliveryWrite clean, concise, modular code that is easily testable and scalableQualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceProven track record of professional software development processes and tools, including Agile methodologies, IDEs, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and test frameworksExperience working alongside senior engineers to produce and support large-scale production systemsExperience with Event Driven systems, patterns, and best practicesOperational experience with containerized cloud platforms (Docker/Kubernetes and GCP/AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)Experience working with live/VOD streaming media, including streaming technologies (HLS), video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, and video player frameworksExposure to Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) platforms and OTT integrationsPay Range: $155,000 - $175,000As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
