About the TeamOur Reasoning Interface & Core Model team trains state-of-the-art models and develops novel methods that power frontier reasoning & personalized interfaces to the AGI. In close collaboration with design and engineering teams, we create impactful products that fundamentally redefine human-AI interaction for millions of users. About the RoleWe are looking for a research engineer / scientist. You will develop the most challenging evaluations and novel methods to train models, improving their core capabilities and shaping the next gen. human-AI interaction paradigms. This role will include working on creative breakthroughs, crafting model behavior, designing evaluations and training procedures, executing careful scientific experiments, developing synthetic data methods, deploying models, and more. Example released projects: ChatGPT canvas, SearchGPT, streaming summarized chain-of-thoughts. Ideal candidates should have a strong technical background, familiarity with the quickly emerging LLM stack, and experience in an applied Machine Learning setting. Previous experience in a creative field or previous product experience (e.g. design engineering, rapid prototyping) is a plus. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.In this role, you will:Design challenging evaluations for novel capabilities Develop scalable synthetic data techniques and study them Train models and run scientific experiments Iterate on research experiments, clearly communicating insights to the team Integrate core behaviors into the next gen frontier models Co-creating novel product surfaces and interaction paradigms Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to bring conceptual prototypes from the research phase into productionYou might thrive in this role if you:Are a team player – willing to do a variety of tasks that move the team forward.Are highly skilled in Python.
