Job Summary
The Business Development Manager's primary responsibility is to win new business within their assigned territory for accounts operating in excess of 25 International legs per year. This role is responsible for qualifying and assessing the customer's needs, developing and proposing solutions leveraging all of UWA core services. They are responsible for developing a 30-60-90 day sales pipeline and strategic target list to support future sales and business planning in an assigned territory. Once a new account has been won, fully established, integrated and operating successfully there will be a hand off to the territory Account Manager, typically no later than 1 year after the first trip. The Business Development Manager will provide sales management and executive staff with sales forecasts, industry intel and routine updates to Pipeline/Target lists. It is expected that the Business Development Manager will provide direction and work cross-functionally with service delivery teams to win the account and manage customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain an attitude of continuous improvement of departmental procedures, services to clients, and relations between co-workers.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned Key Sales Objectives and Sales Targets.
- Responsible for coordination and development of sales account plans for each new Prospect added to their Pipeline.
- Responsible for coordinating with Vertical Sales Teams to capture new accounts.
- Meet goals for revenue growth, account acquisition and profitability.
- Manage and grow the client relationship by regularly contacting prospects and customers in person and via other means.
- Manage all aspects of the customer experience from initial onboarding process, post trip follow-ups, and Quarterly Business Reviews prior to transitioning the customer to the Account Manager.
- Maintain all client interactions and information in Salesforce for forecasting and reporting purposes.
- Understand the competition, know their top accounts and know competitive strengths and weaknesses and apply that knowledge to position UWA services.
- Accurate and timely completion of assigned training, Salesforce entries / reports to Sales Leadership.
- Represent UWA at industry trade shows and in local community activities to raise awareness of UWA products and services.
- Effectively communicate the UWA "POV", why change, why now and why Universal and share product knowledge through sales activities, trainings and other events within assigned territory.
- Other duties as assigned / required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- College degree in Sales, Marketing or a related field, preferred.
- At least 5-7 years in a large account management prospecting/selling environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
- A willingness to pursue professional skills development in support of assigned duties.
- Must be highly organized and detail orientated.
- High energy level and positive attitude.
- Proven track record of quota attainment.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal skills (for internal as well as external use).
- Exhibit positive Teamwork, loyalty to the Company and co-workers.
- Exhibit a confident and professional manner at all times.
- Ability to work unsupervised, and able to make common sense decisions.
- Ability to prioritize cross-functional duties.
- Validation of decisions and price concessions to customers.
- Confident in interpersonal relationships, ability to grow executive and decision maker relationships.
