The Dental Program Clinical Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and evaluating all clinical aspects of the six dental program locations throughout the network. Additional responsibilities include infection control efforts as directed by network guidelines, including the use of all protective wear for patients and employees; maintaining all instruments and equipment; overseeing sterilization processes, waste management issues and the management of inventory and ordering of clinical supplies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes policies and guidelines to ensure proper cleanliness of sterilization and treatment areas at each clinic.
- Establishes guidelines with clinical team to ensure that all rooms are fully stocked, cleaned, and ready for patients at the beginning of each day.
- Assists Program Director with scheduling of providers and support teams.
- Complete routine compliance checks for all locations (lead aprons, handwashing audits, etc).
- Maintain patient flow between providers, staff, and front desk to ensure effective visit.
- Functions as a Dental Assistant as needed and assists other clinical staff with seating patients as well as assisting with assigned procedures.
- Maintain current X-ray licensure.
- Maintain proper inventory for all clinic locations and order supplies as needed in accordance with established network budget.
- Responsible for training/orientation of all new clinical team members.
- Routinely conduct compliance checks at clinic locations for infection control.
- At all times show care and concern for patients, offer reading material to patients and never leave patients unattended in treatment areas.
- Anticipate and assist with all aspects of clinical operations.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours at a time). Continually uses fingers for patient care, writing and handling of patient charts. Routinely uses upper extremities; Occasionally lifts items up to 25 pounds. Occasionally push cart with supplies up to 30 pounds. Occasionally push wheelchair with a patient weighing up to 325 pounds. Stoop, bend and reach above Shoulder level regularly. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and taking blood pressure readings. General vision, near vision, peripheral is all required.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma; graduate or ADA accredited dental assisting program or dental assisting experience in office for 3+ years. Coursework in dental instruments, and procedures, compliance with state dental practice requirements.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Supervisory experience preferred. 3+ years with dental practice to be considered.
