The Director of SIOP will drive the monthly Sales, Inventory & Operations cycle and lead cross-functional collaboration efforts with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment of demand and supply plans. The Director of SIOP will focus on improving customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns, lead times, and working capital. This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience in supply chain management, particularly within the aerospace and defense industry.Essential Job Functions•Provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the implementation of SIOP within the organization, ensuring the process is embedded into operational practices.•Lead the development and execution of the SIOP process, driving continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across multiple sites and business units.Demand ManagementoOversee Customer Order Management to ensure schedule feasibility of downstream supply orders.oDevelop and implement strategies for Past-Due Backlog management to relieve existing and prevent future backlogs.oLead the development of Sales Forecasting strategies to drive effective operations and SIOP.Planning ImprovementsoEnsure optimal Master Data Quality in SAP to support planning, scheduling, purchasing, manufacturing, and SIOP.oLead efforts in Material Planning to provide accurate and effective purchasing and manufacturing requirements.oImplement Capacity Planning to support reliable customer commitments, production scheduling, and backlog management.oOptimize Inventory Planning to ensure raw material availability at economic levels.Scheduling ImprovementsoProvide stable customer-driven finite-capacity scheduling at all levels to drive on-time purchasing and manufacturing.Travel specifictityThis position has interaction and responsibility for Mexicali, MX and Irvine, CA teams. Occasional travel between Mexicali and Irvine (less than 50%). Additional description•Execution Improvements:oEnsure reliable on-time raw material availability through effective purchasing strategies.oImplement Shop Floor Control to promote "the right part at the right time" to minimize manufacturing lead times and WIP.oLead efforts in Bottleneck Reduction to increase manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, product flow, and throughput.•Regularly track and report progress through Weekly Management Status Reports and Milestone Management Reviews.•Facilitate and lead SIOP meetings, managing agendas, action items, and ensuring alignment across all functional areas.•Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer needs and incorporate them into production plans and inventory strategies.•Champion system/application enhancements and upgrades to leverage MRP/ERP functionality, supporting large-scale MRP migrations and system integrations.•Drive cross-functional collaboration, building capabilities, and enabling transitions required to adapt to the dynamic business environment.•Mentor and develop a high-performing SIOP team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity.•Other duties as required.Salary range: $150,000 to $215,000Candidate skills & requirementsEducation/Experience •Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study in business logistics, engineering, supply chain, operations management, or related field. Master's degree preferred. •10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain or project management, with specific experience in building and leading a SIOP process.•Experience in the aerospace and defense industry is highly desirable.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities•Strong knowledge of SAP Supply Chain systems, MRP/ERP systems, and related operating principles.•Demonstrated success in driving SIOP or S&OP processes across multiple sites, with significant experience in change management and strategic planning.•Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes through respect, influence, and impact rather than formal reporting line accountability.•Strong negotiation skills, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.•Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or TQM methodology.
