Color Technology Manager , you will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and developing technologies that enhance the color performance of our aerospace coatings products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge color technologies for aerospace coatings.

The position will be based in Burbank, CA, with direct responsibility as a leader for Aerospace Color Technology Development. The position reports to Associate Director of Aerospace Color Technology. You will also play a key role in implementing new pigment technologies to improve color capabilities and product performance. Additionally, your expertise in color measurement tools and systems will be crucial in facilitating color development and enhancing production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the team to Identify, acquire and / or develop technologies that provide targeted, valued added color performance to aerospace coatings products.Identify, acquire and / or develop color measurement tools / systems for to facilitate color development, enhance production efficiency and promote sale of coatings products.Select and implement new pigment technologies to improve color capabilities and/or product performance related to color.Understand pigment interactions with and dispersion in different coating chemistries to develop effective color formulations.Familiar with digital color tools and technologies. Utilize the appropriate digital tools to modernize color technology development and operations.Collaborate closely with coatings product development team to develop stainers, and tints for specific product lines.Collaborate with corporate color organization, suppliers and external experts to assess and introduce relevant technologies to aerospace business unit.Provide color training internally and to external customers (as needed).Effectively Interface with manufacturing, business and marketing functions to introduce new color technologies and maximize value.Manage direct reports of color technologists & color specialists. Proactively develop talent pipeline.Understands and complies with PPG and aerospace quality and EH&S policies, and any relevant customer-specific requirements.Qualifications

Minimum BS degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the formulation of coatings including color styling & color matching.Strong technical knowledge on performance of coatings, color, quality systems & coatings production processes.A track record of creating and commercializing new products with improved color technology.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and abilities to collaborate cross-functionally and across regions.At least 2 years of team leadership experience is preferred.Must be able to successfully pass a color vision test.
