Peraton is seeking an
Oracle
Database Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/ Transportation Security Administration (TSA) customer. This position is responsible for supporting the Application Support team Oracle Operations and engineering. The Oracle engineer will be responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of the Oracle databases.Day to Day Work Responsibilities:Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases
Participate in incident management activities for Oracle databasesConfiguring and maintain successful backups for Oracle databasesParticipate in designing, developing and maintaining Oracle databases in support of the customer applications, and systemsCreate database storage structures, design objects, and modify database structuresParticipate in the documentation of activities, system changes, testing, procedures, policies, and standards for Oracle databasesSetting up and maintaining Oracle user accountsInvolved in implementation of security measures for Oracle databasesProvide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completedInteract with the customer on an as needed basis regarding Oracle databasesCommunicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner#TSAImpactQualifications
Basic QualificationsBachelor degree and 5 years' experience or Associate degree and 7 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 9 years' experienceU.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearanceExperience with Oracle database engineeringStrong understanding of change, release, and configuration management, and their interactionKnowledge of Client business environment and requirementsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent teamwork skillsExceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgmentAbility to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starterPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of the ServiceNow platformKnowledge of security fundamentalsKnowledge of networking fundamentalsKnowledge of cloud operationsPossess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one month
