For more information about KFI Engineers and our culture, please visit www.kfi-eng.com.POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Human Resource Generalist plays a key role in providing a high level of support to our employees.Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:Responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, HRIS data, HR process, and HR documentation.Develop and establish trusting relationships with people leaders & employees.Audit and verify accuracy of all employee change requests.Offer back-up support to payroll and benefits employees, and other HR functions.Monitors and responds to most needs in our universal HR email inboxes.Act as the first point of contact for employees who have any questions or concerns regarding policies, procedures, and programs, and respond accordingly or redirect to appropriate staff.Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Assist with Workers' Compensation cases. Intake claims, file First Injury Reports and communicate with colleague and claims adjuster as necessary after claim has been filed.Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains organizational charts for Operating Team Members within HRIS.Lead efforts to effectively manage external portals and safety programs.Manages the development and production of annual company calendar.Respond to HR data requests from customers, both internal and external.Performs other duties as assigned.RequiredBachelor's degree in Human Resources or related degree.3+ years of HR experience within a generalist capacity. Must have experience with at least two of the following duties: maintaining HRIS data, processing/backup payroll/benefits, tracking compliance training, and/or experience with Onboarding and Safety programs.Proficient in use of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to establish and maintain trusting relationships throughout the organization.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.Problem solving skills; ability to think critically and escalate when appropriate.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application .Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel.PreferredKnowledge of Deltek VantagePoint or similar project software.Experience with payroll processing.Experience with rollouts or implementations of HR programs and/or systems.Previous experience with benefit administration.SHRM-CP, PHR or other HR certifications are a plus.Working ConditionsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.CORE BEHAVIORSAccountableDemonstrates persistence in the achievement of goals.Acts with a sense of urgency.Takes responsibility for own actions.Business FocusDemonstrates agility, adapts well to changes.Works well under pressure.Meets commitments to internal/external customers.Project ExecutionPlans projects well, managing last-minute rushes and disruptions.Balances Speed and Quality.Looks for improvement in our delivery, tools and processes.Other duties as assigned.Demonstrates Respect for OthersKeeps others adequately informed.Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views.Adapts communication style and method based on audience and situation.Team PlayerBalances team and individual responsibilities.Shares expertise with others.Inspires respect and trust.
