The Cross Functional Inspector must demonstrate a broad knowledge of shipbuilding disciplines and processes but is not required to be an expert in any particular discipline.
*Shipbuilding Cross Functional Inspector Responsibilities*
* The Cross Functional Inspector must demonstrate a broad knowledge of shipbuilding disciplines and processes but is not required to be an expert in any particular discipline. The individual will represent the company in matters of NSMV construction oversight and verification, which may include installation and testing of the following disciplines:
* Steel Hull Structures, Welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
* Surface Preparation and Coating
* Piping Systems
* Electrical Cable and Equipment
* Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery/Systems
* Fire/Lifesaving Systems and Equipment
* Deck Equipment
* Accommodation Area Outfitting and Systems
* Dock and Sea Trial Operational Testing
*Shipbuilding Cross Functional Inspector Position Requirements*
* 3+ years of related experience in new construction shipbuilding.
* Ability to read and interpret ship construction drawings
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs
* Ability to work independently and under limited supervision.
