In this role, the Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing large sets of sales, market, and supply chain data to drive accurate demand forecasts. Supports the activities within Consumer Products for Sales, Marketing, and management relative to annual planning, long term planning, monthly tracking, and analysis of the demand plan. This position will interact with CPD Sales, Trade, Finance, Operations, Logistics, and Marketing to facilitate the planning process (mid to long term).

What You Do.Analyze historical sales, promotions, and market trends to forecast product demand using statistical models and machine learning algorithms.Integrate external data sources, such as competitor pricing, economic indicators, and consumer sentiment, to enhance forecast accuracy.Develop & automate predictive models to optimize the long-term forecasting process, collaborating with the Sr. Marketplace Insights Manager and Post Promotion & Pricing Analyst on existing models/analyticsCollaborate with Demand Planners and Marketing to refine demand forecasts at the channel and segment levels for long-term budgets and latest volume estimatesConsult and translate predictive models into system enabled forecasting capabilities at the appropriate planning levels.Build and maintain dashboards for performance tracking and forecasting accuracyPrepares and helps facilitate monthly cross-functional demand review meetings focused on reaching consensus on a final forecast as part of S&OP process; concisely communicates complex volume forecasting conceptsWork with IT and data engineering teams to maintain and improve data pipelines for real-time data collection, processing, and analysis.Demonstrates an understanding how Pricing Net of Commodities (PNOC) impacts price & promotion execution, and how to account for it in the predictive model output

Your Education and Experience.Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting or related field from four-year college or university required. Minimum of three years related experience and/or training required. Previous experience in CPG sales, marketing, or finance not required.Must possess strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Circana. Familiarity with SAP and IBP preferred.
