SAIC is seeking a proven Network Engineer to join the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Information Technology (IT) Modernization program and support the full range of Enterprise IT services to ARL’s research mission.
This position is contingent upon contract award expected fall/winter 2024. The work is to be performed at the customer site at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD.

This position is your opportunity to utilize your skills and background as a Windows Systems Administrator and deliver support to the warfighting mission and cutting edge R&D for the US Army.
May design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities. Prepares the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. May conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis. May evaluate new technology. Duties may include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Receives assignments in the form of specific tasks for the work to be completed. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives and schedules.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is closely supervised. Follows specific, detailed instructions.
IMPACT: Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs
LIASON: Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the group.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree and zero (0) years of related experience
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must have an active Top Secret clearance
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
Must have a Security+ certification
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
