What we offer * A multi-discipline program with meaningful, hands-on work experience * Networking events coordinated by the New Grad Committee including group mentoring from senior/executive leaders, lunch 'n learns, guest speakers, technical presentations, and holiday celebrations * Wide support network including direct leaders, program leads, human resources, peers, mentor(s), New Grad Committee, and buddy * Structured goal-setting and performance evaluations * Opportunity to present work-term learnings to the Cenovus Leadership team. * Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum relocation payment to assist with relocation expenses * Candidates must have their means of transportation as there is no public transportation in field locations What you'll do * Develop engineering troubleshooting skills * Assist project engineers with designs of less complex equipment such as piping, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, etc. * Provide data for engineering, procurement, and construction of capital projects * Apply hands-on project management * Maintain and develop cost budgets and schedules for projects * Oversee on-site construction and commissioning of engineering projects Who you are * Available to begin work on or around May 12th, 2025 * Legal authorization to work in the United States * As this position requires the operation of a motor vehicle, a valid US Driver's License is required * Previous experience is considered an asset * Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices * Strong verbal and written communication skills Education * Must be enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term * Candidates currently enrolled in either a master's or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered * New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities. Working Conditions * May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc. Safety Sensitive * This is a safety sensitive role and as such you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours * Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the Cenovus pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements * Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle.
