We are currently accepting resumes for a General Manager. Ideal candidates will have prior hospitality leadership experience, a familiarity with Marriott and Opera, the ability to lead and develop a team, is self-motivated, enjoys networking and has an interest in sales/marketing, and the availability to understand and be flexible with the business/staffing demands of the hotel.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services, and resolve complaints
Participate in financial activities, such as the setting of room rates, the establishment of budgets, and the allocation of funds to departments
Communicate with other managers to ensure coordination of hotel activities
Monitor the revenue activity of the hotel - supporting, directing, as well as participating in the sales and marketing efforts
Train and develop staff members
Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to property and brand policies and procedures
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and grounds for cleanliness and appearance
Assign duties to workers, and schedule shifts
Interview and hire applicants
Purchase supplies, and arrange for outside services, such as deliveries, laundry, maintenance and repair, and trash collection
Collect cash payments and record information pertaining to funds and expenditures
Prepare required paperwork pertaining to departmental functions
Perform marketing and public relations activities
Organize and coordinate the work of staff and conference personnel for meetings to be held on property
Provide assistance to staff members by inspecting rooms, setting tables, or doing laundry
Participate in all brand training and development opportunities
Manage and maintain temporary training facilities
Some qualifications that are ideal:
Previous sales and marketing experience or previous brand experience preferred
Ability to learn and understand the hotel’s property management system
Must possess good communication skills in order to effectively and professionally deal with hotel guests, general public and hotel employees
Ability to effectively handle guest and/or employee issues, concerns or conflicts
Ability to establish and build successful rapport with guests and hotel employees
Must possess the ability to inspire and motivate employees to work together as a team as well as fostering empowerment within the hotel
Physical Requirements may include but are not limited to:
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
