Job Details:
The Staff Respiratory Therapist III performs medically prescribed general, intermediate, and intensive respiratory care as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team under the guidance and direction of the Neonatal or Pediatric Coordinator. Professional duties include: Oxygen Therapy, Bland and Medicated Aerosol Therapy, Airway Clearance Techniques, Assisted Ventilation Techniques, Blood Gas Sampling and Analysis, Non-Invasive Blood Gas Monitoring, Airway Management, Mechanical Ventilation, CPR, Bedside Pulmonary Function Testing, Sleep Assessment, Breathing Retraining, Home Care Instruction, Patient/ Parent Education and Smoking Cessation Counseling, In-House and Ambulance Transport.Department Specific Job Details:
The pediatric respiratory care team at Dayton Children's is comprised of licensed respiratory care professionals who work closely with physicians, nurses and other specialists to provide a high level of care. The pediatric respiratory therapists provide care for children of all ages helping to treat respiratory diseases and illnesses including asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital diseases, and others. The department also offers asthma education and smoking cessation counseling.
