We are seeking a full-time (40-hour) Occupational Therapist to join our team in Salem Transition Care, nestled in Oregon's capital city. This 81-bed skilled nursing community is a beautiful/modern facility, with a well-equipped rehab gym and a high volume of short-term care patients. The purpose of this position is to provide and direct all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation and treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education, and documentation according to organization's guidelines, professional standards, and community needs. Serves as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current and prospective patients, and to all internal and external customers. Actively participates in quality assurance and customer service activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides occupational therapy to patients according to licensureDirects and supervises the work of assistants, rehab aides, and students as applicable with state and federal guidelinesFollows all organizational and facility safety procedures regarding one's personal protection and patient safetyExpands and enhances self, in both clinical and professional knowledge through associations and continuing educationSupports and participates in department operations and developmentCommunicates patient status and needs to the patient, family, caregivers, or other members involved with patient care
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved curriculum in Occupational TherapyAble to practice unencumberedIn good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boardsWorking knowledge of Medicare and other payer sourcesFull knowledge of resident's rightsExudes professionalism in presentationAbility to multitaskMust be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in EnglishCPR certification
