We currently have a need for a
Corporate Counse l who will serve as member of the Company’s legal department and report to the Associate Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. The attorney in this position will be responsible for collaborating across all levels of the organization to provide legal advice both individually and together with other Legal team members and outside counsel. This role requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment while juggling multiple demands. This position is for our Syosset, LI Office.Come join our team! (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. Hill-LiRo is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.
Responsibilities
Review, negotiate and draft contracts across a variety of business functions including, construction subcontractor agreements, professional services, supplier agreements, design and consultant agreements, joint venture and teaming agreements, NDAs and other commercial contractsReview Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications for adverse termsProvide direction and guidance on general corporate compliance, company policies and practices, and reporting and licensing requirementsProvide guidance and analysis on legal risks that arise out of design and construction projectsAppear on behalf of Company during ECB hearingsProvide legal analysis of applicable laws, regulations and industry guidance that impact the CompanyProvide responsive and effective legal support and guidance to the Companies business units as neededProvide other in-house legal services as needed for construction and design firm
Qualifications
Minimum 3-7 years of legal experience with
emphasis on Commercial transactions, Risk and Compliance, preferable in the construction or design industry and public sector areaExperience in drafting and reviewing contracts, transactional due diligence, and MBE/WBE contract compliance workStrong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detailSuperior research, interpretation, and analytical skillsDemonstrated leadership and organizational abilitiesGeneral experience in abroad range of legal issuesExperience with Microsoft Suite including: Word, Excel, Power-Point, and Outlook or comparable software applicationsDesired Characteristics:Team player, ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, cross-functional team environmentA practical, creative and proactive problem-solverStrong business judgment and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent analytical, written and verbal communication skillsHigh degree of responsivenessAbility to manage shifting priorities and multiple responsibilitiesBroad corporate transactional experienceRequired license or certification:Bar admission in at least New York stateOur Culture:We believe in the power of collaboration.
