Summary:

Supervises staff manufacturing products; organizes and monitors workflow and drives continuous improvement. Directs personnel to efficiently meet production requirements within safety and quality standards.

Position Responsibilities – People:Demonstrates management and supervisory skills.Demonstrates ability to work effectively in managing a team, without close supervision.Provides substantial input in recruitment, hiring, discipline and terminations decision, where necessary.Directly supervise assigned group. Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.Maintain staff by being part of the recruiting and selection process, orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.Reviews and approves time sheets and attendance records for subordinates.Completes Employee Performance Review forms for assigned group; meets with subordinates to deliver performance feedback and present documents and follows up with Operations Management and Human Resources on any relevant feedback items.Regular and effective communication with internal (employees in own assigned group) and external (employees in other groups and departments) stakeholders. Maintains communications board; schedules and leads department meetings on a regular basis.Develop a highly effective, cross-trained team through consistent, regular training and performance coaching.Position Responsibilities – Product and Process:Ensure products meet customer requirements and internal specifications.Plans the required manpower to meet the production schedule. Monitors daily production targets and effectively maintains production dashboards.Reinforces established ISO work procedures and standard work. Coordinate to keep ISO training log up to date.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments (compounding, coating, rewind and converting schedules/demands).Maintains safe operations of equipment, machinery, and personnel. Trains personnel in proper use of personal protection equipment. Coordinate monthly safety meetings with lead operators. Follow up on the department accident investigation report.Performs department audits, such as, but not limited to, 5S, safety, and housekeeping.Champions the department 5S performance and work with the department leads toward continuous improvement.Helps lead Lean implementation in department and follows up to ensure changes are monitored and maintained long-term.Manages metrics; tracks various measures and KPIs, including, but not limited to productivity, attendance, housekeeping, safety, and quality. Running reports and effectively resolves variances. Supports and contributions to Strategy Deployment (SD) initiatives.Monitors work quality; actively works toward prompt issue resolution and proactive communication of any matters that might have future negative impact.Research and purchases needed equipment, tools, and supplies, within guidelines provided by management.Ensures optimal equipment operation through observation, monitoring and promptly requesting service repairs.Occasionally operates machinery and equipment to aid in completion of department's production goals.Requirements:

Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.Minimum five (5) years in the Manufacturing industry.Minimum three (3) years supervisory / management experience.Competent to advanced communications skills, in the English language (listening, verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal).Proven track record to drive issues to completion and manage multiple tasks effectively.Flexibility regarding work schedule, to appropriately support business needs.Optional/Preferred Experience and Education:Experience working with and training employees how to work with pressure-sensitive adhesives, vinyl films, laminating, converting a continuous processing plant or roll-to-roll manufacturing.Experience in using a forklift and training employees regarding safe forklift use is preferred.Experience using SAP is preferred.Pay Transparency:The current pay range for this position is between $75,000-$85,000. Rate of pay will depend on factors such as market conditions and location, job-related knowledge and skills, education, training and experience. If hired, employment will be at will.
