The Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries and ultimately change the world. We design, manufacture, and support a broad range of high-performance microscopy and spectroscopy workflows on wafers and single chips that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales. We combine hardware and software expertise in electron and ion microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets. Our worldwide Electron Microscopy colleagues are dedicated to our customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.
How will you make an impact?As an Operations Engineer, you will work with a passionate and hardworking team in Eindhoven working with our ground-breaking Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM)!This is an opportunity to join the diverse System Integration cluster within Operations Engineering, where you will focus onto ensuring that all vibration analysis and control activities adhere to industry standards and regulations. This role will allow you to support the manufacturing of TEM systems but also work multi-functionally with different departments and extending support for related business critical projects.
What will you do?Provide technical support to production ensuring timely shipment of high-quality systems to our valued customers
Support factory and field service engineers with the first builds, installs and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules to ensure accurate working order
Solve sophisticated, multi-disciplinary problems and ensuring system specifications are met
Apply advanced tools and techniques to diagnose vibration-related issues on TEM systems and perform root cause analysis to identify and eliminate sources of excessive disturbance
Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to integrate vibration control solutions into product design
Conduct training sessions for end-users and collaborators on vibration analysis techniques
Crafting and maintaining work instructions and defining way of working (factory process flow)
Performing hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting as required
Submitting or implementing engineering changes to improve quality, manufacturability, costs of components/modules.
How will you get there?A degree in a technical field such as Engineering (BSc Applied Physics/ Electrical engineering/ Mechanical engineering), or a combination of engineering education and meaningful work experience that demonstrates required skills
Minimum 2-5 years of experience on similar functions, preferably in tooling / test environment (e.g. electronics/ electromechanical auxiliary systems and applications).
Proficiency in using vibration analysis tools and software (e.g., FFT analyzers, modal analysis software)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of team
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
Have excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing). Speaking proficient Dutch is preferred due to communication with regional suppliers and manufacturers.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a hands-on mentality and practical approach
Ability to cope with the dynamics in a manufacturing environment with a smile!
