Job Description:
The Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining industrial manufacturing machinery, ensuring machines operate efficiently through preventive maintenance services and troubleshooting support. The role will also involve active participation in continuous improvement initiatives and support for kaizen teams.
This position requires close collaboration with internal departments such as health and safety, engineering, supply chain management, and production, as well as external vendors. This is a full-time, on-site role at our facility in Bend, Oregon.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure machinery operates smoothly.Perform uptime and downtime inspections, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.Dismantle and reassemble complex machinery with precision and reliability.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose and fix issues with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Use equipment manuals, schematics, and vendor communication to resolve problems.Work collaboratively with team members across departments to ensure minimal downtime.
Fabrication:
Use tools to fabricate machine parts, including welding, milling, and grinding.Safely operate manual and machine tools to fabricate and repair components.
Expected Results:
The role will ensure minimal downtime through effective preventive maintenance, quick troubleshooting, and high-quality fabrication. This supports reliable machine performance and efficient production processes.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in an industrial machinery-related field.1-3 years of experience in an industrial plant setting.Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred).Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and procedures.Excellent time-management, communication, and collaboration skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling.Comfortable standing and walking for long periods.Ability to work in noisy, hot, and confined environments while using safety equipment.
Equipment Used:
Hand tools, power tools, welding machines, milling/lathe machines, and diagnostic instruments.Safety equipment such as lockout/tagout devices, protective gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
Skills Required:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs efficiently.Familiarity with diagnostic tools and the ability to interpret technical schematics.Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Experience Required:
1-3 years in an industrial maintenance role, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery.Experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360) is a plus.
Education Required:
Associate degree in industrial machinery-related field, such as mechanical engineering technology or industrial maintenance.
Qualities Required:
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability in a team-oriented environment.Commitment to safety and quality in all maintenance tasks.
Pay:
The pay for this role ranges from
$35 to $45 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications.
