The Associate Manager of Fashion & Living Category Management oversees assigned categories within the Fashion and Living business, responsible for coordinating and leading category strategy and key initiatives for growth. This role involves managing licensee relationships, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver category objectives, and supporting retail and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in Category Brand strategy, brand sales, licensing, and retail landscape knowledge, while also possessing an entrepreneurial spirit to support and explore new growth opportunities.

Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with the Fashion & Living team on strategic objectives, annual budget planning, and quarterly revenue forecasting to drive overall business growth and align with revenue goals.

Lead new Licensee recruitment efforts, including ideation, business opportunity identification, market analysis, prospecting, pitching, and preparing sales materials, presentations, and ad-hoc reports.

Manage all aspects of licensee relationships, including deal negotiation, contract management, renewals, and daily communication, serving as the primary point of contact.

Partner with Contract Ops, Legal, and cross-functional teams to streamline and process contract-related needs, ensuring timely and efficient approvals and deal execution.

Collaborate across departments, including Product Development, Retail Sales, Franchise, and Marketing, to deliver compelling product lines and enhance brand presence across all retail channels, driving synergy and alignment with UP&E brand goals.

Analyze and monitor the Licensed Fashion competitive landscape and market trends to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.

Cultivate strong internal relationships within UP&E teams to explore cross-category opportunities and maximize collaboration across all business areas.

Qualifications/Requirements

3+ years of experience in Licensing, with a focus on Fashion & Living or a related field

BA/BS degree preferred

Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments and with external partners

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and remain adaptable to shifting priorities

Strong cross-functional collaboration experience, with the ability to manage processes and workflows across multiple departments such as Legal, Marketing, Product Development, and Retail Sales

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities, driving category growth and innovation

Experience in brand building, selling brands, and an understanding of the licensing, retail, and product development landscape

Proficient in reviewing licensing contracts and experienced in negotiating key business terms

Thorough knowledge of the product development lifecycle and retail merchandise planning

Strong organizational skills and project management capabilities, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage complex projects from conception to completion

Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, contribute new perspectives, and drive meaningful contributions to team objectives

Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, with strong financial reporting and analysis skills, contributing to budget planning and revenue forecasting

Skilled in Microsoft Office suite and Apple Keynote software

Willingness to travel for business as needed
