Job Summary:
The Executive Director, Manufacturing Operations will lead the manufacturing of a low/medium volume platform, overseeing the value stream from assembly to Certificate of completion. This role requires collaboration with Sales & Marketing and Engineering to support new product development and customization programs. Responsibilities include leading the manufacturing organization, driving improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery, and managing a $28+ million annual budget.
Essential Functions:
Establish and maintain operational standards for safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction, and on-time delivery.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure cost-effective design and implementation of tools, processes, and facilities.
Lead Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Tooling initiatives.
Manage Operations team development, training, and continuous improvement.
Set and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People.
Provide leadership in problem resolution and process improvements.
Oversee budget compliance and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Minimum 12 years of experience, including 7 years in leadership roles.
Strong budget management, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, process improvement, and quality systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage performance and drive team success.
