Executive Associate to the Dean of the Law School

Position Description:

Performs administrative and coordinative work in direct support of an executive officer, including such functions as planning, budgeting, supervision and program implementation and evaluation. Performs responsible and complex office support duties, thus relieving the administrator of these duties. Work is performed under administrative supervision with evaluation based on results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions:

Responsible for all matters relating to the scheduling of appointments for the Dean, and keeping the calendar updated.

Handle all of the Dean's travel (i.e. airline, hotel, car reservations), including the reconciling process.

Provide information or guidance to personnel in the Dean's Suite, and fielding questions and concerns that may require the Deans attention.

Act as the contact person between the school of law, the university or external offices and entities, including but not limited to the Provost Office, President's Office, and Office of the Chancellor.

Receives and screens walk in visitors and phone calls requesting meetings with the Dean.

Ability to problem solve and take initiative. Professional Communication skills, both writing and oral. Strong organizational and planning skills. Complies with Texas Tech's policies, procedures, and work rules. Supports the customer service philosophy of Texas Tech. Serves as the ambassador for the school and often is responsible for a person's lasting impression of the law school.

Previous experience maintaining calendars, and ability to establish priorities.

Organize events in the Dean's Office including hosting student meetings with the Dean.

Assist with the Annual Tech Law Alumni Tailgate and the Annual Texas Tech Law School Gala.

Bachelor's degree required in related area plus six years progressively responsible administrative experience including supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or experience to equal ten years.
