Position Overview
As the commercial vehicle industry undertakes its most significant transformation in a century, International is on a mission to redefine transportation.
Autonomous transportation solutions are set to fundamentally change the future of goods and people transport. New technology and legislation enable the shift towards driverless solutions resulting in a more efficient, safe and sustainable transport system. International and our parent company TRATON intend to be the leader in the autonomous development by creating a total solution offer enabling our customers to excel in their transport operation.
We currently are seeking a Head of Operations for Autonomous Solutions that will be part of Autonomous Deployment and Operations Team.
The responsibility of Autonomous Deployment and Operations Team is to deliver on the decided initiatives by coordinating and aligning development workstreams and driving the design, deployment and support for customer operations of autonomous solutions.
The function has three main areas:
Project organization with project- and deployment managers leading the customer implementations
Operations responsible to start up, run validate and first hand support operations for customers
Customer Success with the responsibility of analyze customer needs, validate and integrate the solution and run 24/7 second line support center for customer operations
The Head of Operations has the overall responsibility for the validation and verification of the autonomous operations system. The role oversees the implementation and work with continuous optimization of autonomous technologies in the operations context, ensuring efficiency, safety, and innovation for the complete solution.
As the first employee into Operations organization for Onroad you will build up the Transport operations entity and all that is needed in order to start commercial pilot operations for customers and be head of this legal entity.
Responsibilities
Analysis of business operations in coordination with initiative owner and business development
Plan staffing, roles, creating processes, standards and routines to run the Autonomous solution operations in line with standards & Group Policies
Recruit, manage, lead, coach, train, develop and motivate your team to deliver high quality results
Responsible for implementing the operations concept set up, testing of operational concept, train customer, follow progress and operational readiness
Run transport operations for customer pilots with all legal, logistics and operational demands
Identify and implement improvements in operations set up, work in close cooperation with customer and report KPI both to customer and internal
In daily operations ensure that the repair and maintenance for On-bard, offboard and IT network system works well
The role is part of Autonomous Deployment and Operations management team as well as Autonomous Solutions Operations. The position will work closely with the research and development organization and will integrate the operations into customer pilots
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 12 years of operations management experience
At least 6 years of management experience
OR
Master’s degree
At least 10 years of operations management experience
At least 6 years of management experience
OR
At least 14 years of operations management experience
At least 6 years of management experience
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Experience in the automotive industry, particularly in ADAS or Autonomous Driving technologies is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of automotive safety standards, such as ISO 26262
Experienced leading a transportation and logistics operation
Project management experience
Ability to manage customer relationships
Ability to influence, motivate, and manage direct reports, matrix reports, and cross-functional teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of tailoring message to audience
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and change
Ability to build consensus with relevant stakeholders
Ability to communicate and present complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
Exceptional analytical problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate/ prepare presentations for management
