Qualifications- Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Current PPD (Mantoux/TB) results, and other requirements of hospitals- High School Diploma required- Preferred RPSGT Non-registered technologists must have completed or be registered for the AASM A-Step On-line Self-Study Modules prior to independently conducting studies, or must be enrolled in or have completed a CAAHEP accredited sleep technology training program, END program, or respiratory add-on track for sleep technology- Outstanding patient care and interpersonal skills Ability to understand technical aspects of job such as troubleshooting equipment while also taking initiative to continue education
Summary Polysomnographic Sleep Technician Per Diem night shifts open at our 500 Congress Street, Quincy, MA site. The nighttime polysomnographic technologist is primarily responsible for obtaining artifact-free polysomnographic data on two patients. The technologist must be able to recognize when sleep apnea is present; know when to initiate CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure); titrate CPAP to achieve an optimal therapeutic level; and, verify that all data is adequate and that all objectives are being met.The technologist must be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures.
