Job Title: Color Mixer for Weekend ShiftJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Color Mixer to join our team for the weekend shift. This role, also known as an Ink Technician, is crucial to our operations. You will be responsible for mixing color inks to match supplied targets, reading and understanding production schedules, calculating the proper amount of ink, mixing the ink in the machine, and completing orders. The position requires an initial training period of two months on the first shift.ResponsibilitiesOperate equipment such as forklifts, electric/air mixers, X-rite, and SPEC Dispensers.Mix color inks to match supplied targets.Read and understand production schedules.Calculate the proper amount of ink needed.Mix the ink in the machine and complete orders.Maintain a clean work area at all times.Perform trial procedures for backorders.Essential SkillsAbility to match colors accurately.Forklift operation experience.Experience in mixing and color mixing.Printing experience.Proficiency in measuring, batching, and blending.Ability to follow written directions.Strong mathematical skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to weigh and measure accurately.Physical ability to stand, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, pivot/twist, balance, and climb.Ability to lift at least 60 lbs. frequently and push/pull at least 90 lbs. occasionally.Good vision and manual dexterity.Ability to interact well with others.Why Work Here?This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with room for advancement. Top-rated press operators can earn in the mid $30s/hour within less than five years if they apply themselves. Once hired full-time, employees receive benefits within 30 days, including three weeks of vacation and an annual work boot reimbursement of up to $100. Employees also receive a 50-cent raise upon being hired permanently, with potential for more based on training and experience.Work EnvironmentTraining will be on the first shift for two months, then transitioning to the weekend shift (Friday-Sunday, 12-hour shifts from 5 am to 5 pm). The facility can get slightly cold or hot, but it is not extensively temperature-controlled. The dress code includes steel-toed/composite shoes, pants, and a t-shirt. Breaks include two 10-minute breaks and one 20-minute paid lunch break, during which employees are not allowed to leave the premises.
