Controller Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years' relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/Controller role.
- Sage experience = a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Experience in the mortgage or real estate sectors = major plus.
Controller Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all accounting operational functions, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Establish and implement department policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
- Prepare internal and external financial statements and oversee audits.
- Manage multiple balance sheets, cash flow, and perform regular financial analysis.
- Oversee the daily processing of deposits, wires, and payables, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate and enhance internal control systems and accounting practices.
- Develop and monitor performance metrics to drive business success.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax planning and reporting.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
- Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting personnel.
