The Associate Director of Development will be a vital part of the Development team, overseeing the Annual Fund, select events, and alumni relations. This is an in-person position and requires a collaborative, hands-on approach to fundraising, event planning, and alumni engagement. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and strategic thinking to support the mission and build meaningful relationships within the school community.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree preferred, with at least 3-5 years of experience in development or fundraising.
Proven success in managing annual funds, events, and alumni engagement.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people.
Experience in managing databases, analyzing fundraising metrics, and creating reports.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a collaborative approach to team efforts.
Passion for education and commitment to the mission of Sandia Prep.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for events.
Key Responsibilities:
Annual Fund Oversight:
Develop and execute the strategy for the Annual Fund to achieve fundraising goals.
Manage all aspects of annual giving, including direct mail, email campaigns, and donor stewardship.
Track and report on fundraising progress, donor participation, and engagement.
Identify and cultivate potential donors for increased giving opportunities.
Event Planning & Management:
Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, including the biennial gala, alumni events, and donor receptions.
Work with volunteers, vendors, and staff to ensure seamless event logistics and success.
Analyze the return on investment (ROI) of events and make recommendations for future improvements.
Alumni Relations:
Oversee alumni engagement strategies, including events, communications, and volunteer opportunities.
Cultivate relationships with alumni to encourage giving, event participation, and involvement in Sandia Preps community.
Develop and implement strategies to increase alumni giving and volunteerism.
Donor Stewardship & Cultivation:
Ensure that donors are thanked promptly and meaningfully.
Develop ongoing relationships with key donors, ensuring that they feel connected to the school and its mission.
Work closely with the Director of Development to develop personalized cultivation strategies for major donors.
Communications & Outreach:
Collaborate with the communications team to develop donor and alumni messaging for newsletters, social media, and school publications.
Provide input for strategic messaging and branding of the development initiatives.
Data & Reporting:
Manage donor records and ensure accurate data entry in the schools database.
Analyze fundraising data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Provide regular reports to the Director of Development and the Board of Trustees on fundraising progress.
Collaboration & Team Support:
Work closely with the Director of Development and other team members to align fundraising strategies with school goals.
Assist with major giving initiatives, planned giving, and other long-term development strategies.
Foster a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and volunteers.
