We have an amazing opportunity for a generalist on our busy night shift, helping to cover the AM run, processing up to 3000 samples of high complexity testing at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix. POSITION SUMMARYThis position performs waived and non-waived tests as defined by CLIA ‘88 in an accurate and timely manner with supervision.

Assists with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA).

Personnel report to department supervisor. May be responsible for the collection, receipt, and processing of biological specimens into the laboratory.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicant must meet one of the following criteria to qualify:Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or

Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science (transcripts will be reviewed to determine eligibility).

Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation

Meet other criteria defined in

or

42CFR493.1491

(including US military medical laboratory procedures training courses)

Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation) or other nationally recognized credentialing agency for review to determine eligibility and translated diploma.

Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy in departments where applicable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB).

Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and knowledge of medical terminology.

Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing.

Additional related education and/or experience.
