We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Database Administrator / Database Developer / Report Writer to join our team in office at our Dallas location. In this role, you will manage, optimize, and enhance an existing SQL Server environment, ensuring database performance and reliability. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who’s eager to develop foundational database management skills within a legacy system, gaining hands-on experience with data administration and development in a supportive environment.Key Responsibilities:
Database Health and Management:
Learn and implement standard procedures to monitor database performance and ensure availability.Manage SQL Server replication processes and backup/recovery protocols, receiving guidance from experienced team members as needed.Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as indexing and patching, with support in implementing best practices.
Database Development:
Gain hands-on experience by developing stored procedures, views, and functions tailored to meet our organizational needs.Collaborate with senior team members to design efficient data models and optimize queries.
Report Writing and Data Support:
Assist in the creation of reports and data visualizations that align with business needs, supported by experienced developers.Learn to use SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar tools for reporting purposes.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Foundational Skills:
Basic knowledge of SQL Server (familiarity with SQL, T-SQL, or similar is beneficial).Eagerness to learn and apply database optimization and performance techniques.Willingness to work with legacy systems and adapt to established data models.
Problem-Solving and Adaptability:
Curiosity and determination in troubleshooting issues, with guidance from the team.A proactive approach to learning and improving database efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to database replication concepts, indexing strategies, or report generation.Basic understanding of ETL concepts or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
