HarcoSemco is a Custom Aerospace Components Manufacturer and an operating unit of the TransDigm Group Inc. (NYSE:TDG). We have seen great success in innovating advanced manufacturing techniques in the design and fabrication of temperature sensors, thermocouple systems, interconnect cable-harness assemblies, probes, and sensors. For over 65 years, we have successfully supplied these products to the commercial, business, military jet, rotor, and spacecraft markets.

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Branford, CT. The Supplier Quality Engineer works closely with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and the engineering department to facilitate and manage successful supplier partnerships to ensure HarcoSemco's supply chain objectives. The Engineer supports supply chain in the selection and qualification of suppliers and owns the process of qualifying the parts, product, or service being procured. In addition, maintain supplier performance metrics and measurements, facilitate product and process improvements, cycle time and cost reductions, and manage compliance to quality requirements. The Engineer also provides engineering and technical assistance to suppliers as required, establish, compile, produce, and analyze quality reports to discern quality levels and implement corrective action as appropriate.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the Organization's Supplier Quality to drive improvement in the Supply Chain by assuring adequacy in the Suppliers' Quality program and inspection methods.Lead key processes including, but not limited to: Obsolescence Board, Supplier Audits / Surveillance, issuance of Supplier Corrective Action Requests, and Supplier Performance ratings.Work with technical groups on defining Supplier specifications as appropriate.Monitor the quality performance of our suppliers and regularly perform reviews and necessary actions to secure compliance.Analyze suppliers' quality performance and identify improvement opportunities.Manage supplier non-conformances (including root causes analysis, 8D investigations, containment, and corrective actions).Participate in supplier work transfer evaluation and monitoring.Maintain accurate and current Supplier quality records such as: supplier audits, certifications, and supplier corrective action responses.Define and manage key Supplier Quality metrics.Enhance and manage the current Approved Supplier List (ASL) database to ensure full control of supplier and audit compliance.Create and manage Supplier Corrective Action database.Develop supplier quality policies and procedures as required.Perform supplier capability and quality/risk assessments as required.Must be able to travel both international and domestic up to 30%.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent verbal, written, communication skills.Ability to set priorities to meet internal & external customer demands.Must be highly organized, a self-starter and able to work independently.Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred.

Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering. Professional-level experience may substitute for the degree as appropriate.3+ years of Quality experience with prime focus on Supplier initiatives.3+ years of Supplier Quality auditing experience.Strong understanding of quality methods and systems (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing).Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, 8D, and continuous improvements.Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO-9001 standards.Experience with product qualification activities or inspection/control.Demonstrate proficiency with MS Software packages including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Experience utilizing manufacturing or ERP software required - Visual a plus.Aerospace industry experience preferred.

Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWork in an office and manufacturing environment.Travel required up to 30% to vendors and other manufacturing locations.May be exposed to routine noise from manufacturing plant floor.Must be able to push, pull, and lift at least 20 lbs, unaided.Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.Must be able to sit, stand, reach, bend, and grasp equipment, tools, or inventory.Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary when working in areas on the manufacturing plant floor.
