Who we are? Within Prime Video Sports, we aspire to revolutionize the way our customers discover and watch live sports. From Thursday Night Football in the US to UEFA Champions League in UK, Germany and Italy, we’ve launched and scaled a state-of-the-art live streaming experience to Prime customers around the world. Beyond an error-free streaming experience, we've delighted fans by launching differentiated experiences, such as Rapid Recap to catch-up on key plays before joining a live game, and Defensive Alerts in the TNF broadcast to bring never-seen-before insights to NFL fans. With the NBA coming to Prime Video in 2025 and continued growth with live sports content from our channel partners, we're just getting started in making Prime Video the preferred destination for fans to watch Sports.

We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager for our team in Seattle, WA, to build innovative solutions for customers to discover engaging and personalized live content to enjoy. This is a transformative opportunity, the chance to be at the vanguard of a program that will revolutionize Prime Video, and the live streaming experience for customers everywhere. In this role you will work across our distributed engineering team in building a wide variety of services from flexible Live Sports publishing platform that integrates with the broader Prime Video ecosystem to low-latency, high-TPS services that impact the discovery experience on wide variety of devices. If you’re a technical program manager, there’s a home for you in Seattle working on Prime Video Live Sports. Our leaders are great teachers, our engineers are world-class, and our products are fun.

What will you do? You will own and drive product features partnering with SDMs in our Seattle, WA Austin, TX and Arlington, VA teams. You'll collaborate with Prime Video teams including Catalog, Commerce, Offers, X-Ray, Prime Video Channels, Store Front Automation, devices and more. You will look around corners, anticipate bottlenecks, and use technical judgement to land complex programs for our business. You will also influence and shape how we execute and help drive velocity with high quality.

This role involves regular communication with senior, director, and VP level management on project status and risks, broad cross-team coordination on project execution, creating effective project management strategies to meet deliverables and organize teams, and regular updates to Critical Program Reviews and other reporting mechanisms.

Own engagement and build mechanisms to collaborate effectively with the partners across Prime Video, Amazon.com, and other critical external partners Work to decompose requirements into technical execution plans with multiple development teams, track progress towards goals, and report status to product, business development, and technical leadership. Help make the right feature trade-offs to ship software without compromising customer experience and business relevance Engage with many other teams in the company, evangelizing the team and your project, building relationships and helping identify existing components and technologies that can be leveraged to deliver on our goals Represent the technical team to senior leadership across the company

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience 7+ years of technical product or program management experience 5+ years of software development experience Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
