as part of our contaminated site assessment and remediation practice in our
Oakland or Walnut Creek, CA
office. to support you and your family.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Fieldwork such as sampling soil, surface water and groundwater; aquifer testing and groundwater monitoring; and operating and maintaining remediation treatment systems.Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation.Oversight of contractors conducting remedial investigation and/or remedial construction services.Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation.Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting.Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.Education and Licensure:Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering (required).Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental science with a focus in geology (required for geologist or scientist candidates).Advanced degree in the same (preferred).Skills, Experience and Qualifications:Excellent writing and communication skills (required).Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required).Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).Related prior work experience, including internship, consulting, and/or research; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology (preferred).Experience with ArcGIS, MODFLOW, and/or Earth Volumetric Studio, AutoCAD (preferred).Database management, manipulation, and visualization experience with ArcGIS, Microsoft Access, SQL, R, Python, or others (preferred).Compensation:The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Based on state and federal requirements, this position may be hourly and overtime-eligible or salaried eligible for straight-time overtime.
