Your RoleAs a Gensler Architect with our team in
Baltimore , your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions and coordinate design through the construction documentation and administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. With you as part of the team, our designs have never been so engaging.What You Will DoCollaborate on base building, interior architecture and interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and management of budgets and schedules.Design and deliver functional and beautiful spaces for projects within Practice Areas such as: Critical Facilities, Sciences, Office Developers, Workplaces for Technology, Financial Services Firms and Professional Services Firms, Strategy, Cities and Urban Design and more.Develop building core and enclosure systems.Advise clients and team about the building and zoning codes.Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants.Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials.Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges.Maintain project manual and specifications.Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs during construction.Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships.Champion Gensler's diversity and inclusion goals with respect to teammates, partners, and consultants.Your QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.4-10 years of relevant experience with interior architecture and/or ground up building architectural experience (ideally both!).Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD + 3-D, Enscape, VRay, Grasshopper, Rhino or other visualization software.Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or SPEXX a plus.Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures.Hand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plus.Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas.Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills.Licensed / Registered Architect.LEED accreditation is a plus.Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; if possible, portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview.Please submit your resume and portfolio.This role is not remote; we look forward to working with our new team member in our
