Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a skilled
Linux System Administrator
to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. You will perform systems administration and management duties with all components of classified information systems on physical and virtual platforms to support contract computing needs.
These systems will contain Microsoft Windows and Linux components such as network storage devices, authentication servers, and workstations. This position requires attention to detail, critical thinking, solid organizational skills, and great customer service skills. You will be expected to document existing processes and procedures, to make improvements on and suggestions concerning our current operations.
The ideal candidate will work with fellow team members, our security staff, as well as their user base in a constructive manner to provide cost-effective, relevant, and responsive IT solutions, while being prepared to assist customers to meet their goals within various US Government policy frameworks.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide Tier I/II support to include hardware and software configuration deployment with specific focus on Linux systems
Remediate system vulnerabilities identified from automated scanners
Use Bash scripting and Ansible to quickly provide support to Continuous Integration efforts
Use demonstrated knowledge of current backup hardware and software mechanisms for disaster recovery and continuity of operations
Use a strong understanding of networking, DNS, DHCP, and knowledge of Active Directory to provide solutions and suggestions
Expand the current usage of virtualization and containers (e.g., Hyper-V, ESXi, Docker, Kubernetes, VMware/vSphere) in the team
Administer DevOps needs: Jenkins, Jira, and Git
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in a related field plus a minimum of Four (4) years professional Linux experience with administration of networks and information systems, MS degree in related field and a minimum of Two (2) years of Linux experience, or High School diploma and 8+ years of Linux experience will be required.
Must be compliant with DOD 8570 baseline certification requirements for IAT II with a current Security + CE or equivalent must be obtained within 6 months of hire as well as a Computing environment certification (Windows, Linux+, VMWare, Server+, and Storage computing environment certifications are a few acceptable examples).
This position may require travel, in support of test events.
Must be a US Citizen, possess and be able to maintain a Final Secret Clearance.
Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville -North Alabama, AL, area.
Preferred Qualifications
Linux or other open-source operating systems certifications are favorable
Knowledge of and experience with the administration of Ubuntu and Red Hat in enterprise environments
Demonstrated knowledge of data redundancy architectures and virtualization.
Knowledge of PowerShell/batch scripting.
Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and other collaboration tools to help developers in their everyday tasks.
Familiar with US Government policies and directives (e.g., NIST 800-53, NISPOM, JSIG/JFAN, and/or DCID Memorandums)
Experience with relevant JSIG/JAFAN or ICD RMF accreditation process.
Experience with SCC scanner and DISA STIGs would be beneficial.
