This role drives creation and alignment of the strategic merchandise plan, seasonal targets, and assortment architecture to support Under Armour’s financial goals. The Director, Merchandise Planning is a critical leader within the planning organization and partner to Product Leadership, Supply Chain, Finance, and regional teams. The role reports to the VP, Merchandise Planning, Pricing, Operations and GTM. The Director is expected to drive transparency and visibility of the health of the business back to the team, present opportunities or risks, and influences decision making around revenue, margin, and inventory strategies. The Director will drive process innovation through our end-to-end planning system deployment, drive effective change management, and share best practices with peers and teammates.Your Impact
Develop and implement comprehensive strategic financial plans across product categories that connect to financial targets and consider global consumer trends/behaviors, macro-economic factors, and overall business strategy.Monitor and respond to performance against financial targets; drive reconciliation meetings that identify and action on risks & opportunities related to sales, margin and inventory KPIs.Collaborate closely with Global Product organization to provide financial and analytical input into line planning, product creation/design, and assortment optimization.Review and analyze complex historical trends in seasonal hind sighting process; leverage advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to derive insights and share recommendations with key partners.Create top line targets for sales growth, demand, style/color counts, and item productivity by category for each GTM season. Drive top-down strategies across divisions, departments and classes.Serve as a “champion for change” of end-to-end planning initiative; partner with cross functional teams to develop, align and execute on critical process evolutions required to continuously improve and innovate.Qualifications
BA/BS required (Business, Statistics, Economics major, a plus).Min. ten years’ experience merchandise planning, store planning, inventory or other business planning.Ability to influence and motivate a team of direct and/or indirect reports.Adept at analyzing complex quantitative data and tying to long term strategy.Proven track record of driving high-impact projects that positively impact enterprise performance and hitting timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and BI reporting tools; planning system experience a plus.Mastery understanding of retail math and forecasting methodology.Problem-solving skills to identify root cause and solutions of reporting/forecasting anomalies.Team leader with demonstrated ability to achieve team requirements, tasks and objectives.Strong skills in building partnerships, collaborating effectively, and delivering impactful presentations.Foster inclusive collaboration, influence stakeholders, and promote continuous improvement.Workplace Location

$156,397.00 - $215,045.60 USDMost new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
