Artificial General Intelligence Data Services (AGI DS) mission is to provide high-quality labelled data at high-speed and low-cost for machine learning (ML) technologies.

The System Development Manager role in AGI DS will have the incredible opportunity to build and maintain software solutions that enable AGI DS organization to provide high quality data which creates the best-in-class Artificial General Intelligence for Amazon. This leader will be responsible for providing full-cycle, high-quality data labelling/generation services in multiple languages. We are looking for passionate and talented problem solvers who have experience building and supporting innovative, large-scale, high volume, and distributed software applications.

Key job responsibilities

A successful candidate will be a hands-on manager with an established background in developing and operating platforms and services, developing and hiring extraordinary talent, have strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a dynamic fast paced environment.Lead a team of highly talented System Development and Support Engineers responsible for managing all aspects of mission-critical systems.Manage the design and development of new software solutions supporting our internal teams, including code reviews, testing, deployment and post-launch monitoring.Lead and manage the team that drives organizational standards for Engineering and Operational excellence.Establish strong relationships with internal partners and peer stakeholders to understand and meet their needs while operating existing systems at a high quality.Participate in incident management to resolve outages and communicate with a global audience and participate in calls resolving outages.Develop and maintain a culture of innovation and automations to reduce manual effort for customers, operations and internal Technical teams.Hiring, growing and retaining engineering team keeping up with the high Amazon bar.

Meet Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team whose mission is to build the world’s best Artificial General Intelligence that will enable every Amazon business to deliver more value to its customers and benefits humanity. AGI foundational models and services can be used across all businesses at Amazon. Powering this growing in AGI is need for Data, that ML model depend. AGI Data Services is a key part of AGI org providing data creation, curation, and analytics services to help develop, test, and train the AI models. This organization generates ground truth data which is used to train machine learning models. The team works with various data formats such as audio, video, and images, and packages this information to be used by internal stakeholders (e.g., data modeling and product teams).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Expertise in operational excellence, security compliance, and distributed systems’ resiliency.· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.· Experience developing in Python for similar modern programming language, such as C++, Java, C#, or Ruby.· Expertise in operations of highly available and scalable internet systems with large customer base.· Experience managing staff and meetings across multiple sites and time zones.· Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topics.· Ability to drive effective teamwork, collaboration and commitment.· Excellent analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.· Experience developing and improving operational documentation, procedures and workflows.· Ability to credibly coordinate between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders.· Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies.· Experience managing on-call support coverage, escalation and critical issue management.· Experience in contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment.· Experience in root cause analysis and error correction, identifying changes to procedures and systems to implement long term fixes and avoid repeating issues.Posted:
