Position OverviewThe Equity Center seeks a motivated Program Manager to lead the Young Writer's Workshop (YWW) program. This position will focus on critical engagement with youth through the arts, primarily in creative writing, performing arts (dance, theatre, music), studio art (photography, painting, drawing), and digital media (graphic design, audio production). The Program Manager will live and work at Sweet Briar College for 7 weeks during the summer, from June 15-August 03, where team residential housing is provided by the program.About the Equity CenterThe Center for the Redress of Inequity Through Community-Engaged Scholarship (the "Equity Center") is the University of Virginia's collaborative multi-disciplinary center, established in August 2019. The Equity Center seeks to redress racial and socioeconomic inequality in university communities by advancing a transformative approach to universities' fundamental research mission.ResponsibilitiesWorking collaboratively with School of Education and Equity staff for successful program co-creation.Designing, directing, and delivering in-person summer program staff orientation training.Generating database reports, training and supervising staff on how to use the database tool, and managing the program database.Providing direct employee supervision, including communication of clear expectations, training, coaching, constructive feedback, and recognition appropriate to individual role performance.Tracking program evaluations and incorporating student and staff suggestions for improvement in the design of future programming.Managing outreach communications and promotional materials, ensuring the accuracy of information in the program website, social media, and alumni newsletters.Maintaining website functionality and leading initiatives in design, revision, and updating of all components in collaboration with the EC communications team.Other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degreeExperience: Two years of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Preferred RequirementsEducation: Master's or terminal degreeInterest in literary arts and/or other creative arts and/or K-12 teaching experienceExperience in the mentorship of young adults to become critical thinkers and innovative leaders in their communitiesCommitment to serve communities by reducing racial and socioeconomic inequity.A valid driver's licenseThis is an exempt level, benefited position, and is dependent upon performance and funding.Anticipated Hiring Range:

$65,000-70,000 commensurate with education and experience.Preference will be given to applications received by
