The Opportunity :Under the general direction of and reporting to the Director of Office of Technology Transfer (OTT), the Associate Director, Technology Licensing and Operations is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of technology commercialization operations and programs. Additionally, this position partners with the Director to set the goals, direction, and expectations of the office, as well as identify and meet stakeholder expectations.Responsibilities:Effectively manages the day-to-day operation of OTT, including supervision of licensing and operations staff and processes. Provides general oversight, training, and mentoring to OTT licensing and operations staff.

Works closely with the Director and senior administration to provide high-level management and advising for a comprehensive intellectual property program at the university.

Reviews and approves (in accordance with delegated authority) option and license agreements and other types of agreements, including material transfer, non-disclosure, and inter-institutional agreements. Reviews, edits, and approves intellectual property terms in sponsored research contracts and other types of collaboration agreements.

Identifies and implements new strategies to build and foster relationships with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students, and staff to stimulate researcher engagement and participation in technology transfer.

Represents OTT and the university at conferences and meetings with the investment community and prospective industry partners.

Conducts workshops and delivers presentations to internal and external stakeholders to foster engagement with the Technology Transfer office.

Based on established best practices, drafts, implements, and continually monitors standard operating procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations and compliance with policies and regulations.

Oversees management of the intellectual property portfolio at various stages of development and protection.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years of leadership experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree or Ph.D. in a physical sciences STEM field strongly preferred.
