To help guide the collaborative effort, we are in search of a Software Engineer II to join our team.We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer who is passionate about developing solutions that meet business needs, is a quick learner, enjoys daily interaction with business and technology teams, and is comfortable learning new technologies and platforms while working in a fast-paced environment. This role is part of our Field Distribution Services team that supports our Field Practice Management Engineering department.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Implements holistic solutions utilizing working relationships across the enterprise.Designs, organizes, and executes high impact solutions across teams both within and outside their division.Establishes, aggregates, and shares enterprise standards and best practices.Mentors and guides junior engineers within respective division.Ensures production stability, monitoring, and root cause analysis is executed for their products.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.6-8 years of professional experience required.5-8+ years of experience leading teams using modern engineering tools, languages, and practices.Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering significant and impactful technology solutions.Experience developing and leading solution design and delivery using agile methods.Expert for the organization in one or more technologies:Java: Spring Boot and BatchDockerAWS: Aurora (MySQL), SNS/SQS, TerraformingKubernetesGitLab CISuccessfully deals with ambiguity.Recognized as the go-to expert within the division or department.Ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels of detail.Solid understanding of design patterns and architecture.Benefits:Tuition reimbursement, commuter plans, and paid time offHighly competitive compensation that includes base salary plus bonusMedical/Dental/Vision plans, 401(k), pension programCompensation Range:Pay Range - Start: $121,030.00Pay Range - End: $224,770.00Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure.
