Manager - Scheduling and IT Support

Manages the day-to-day activities of IT School Support Systems team. Sets employee objectives, evaluates employee performance and performs the functions of the employees supervised as necessary. Manages activities of all software systems and applications programming that affects the overall administrative support information management systems to which assigned.
Essential Functions
Responsible for applications systems analysis and development activities, feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and the establishment and implementation of new or revised applications systems.Assists in projecting school scheduling support needs and evaluates vendor proposals for purchases of required hardware and software.Responsible for activities related to technical and strategic guidance for planning, directing, and monitoring grading and school scheduling.Responsible for activities related to the configuration and support of schools in their use of the student information system. Projects long-range requirements in conjunction with other information systems managers.Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the school scheduling and grading team.Advises or consults on organizational, procedural, and workflow plans, methods, and procedures analysis. Analyzes the results of workflow plans and determines best possible system solutions.Provides appropriate supervision, mentoring, and professional growth and development opportunities to assigned staff. Such responsibility includes the development and implementation of professional growth plans to include keeping abreast of current developments, literature, and technical sources of information.Provides input to the budget for area of responsibility. Develops and monitors time and expense budgets.Provides input in defining strategic directions for area of responsibility.Maintains advanced technical knowledge of assigned City Schools application programs, school scheduling, databases, operating systems, and customer data retrieval processes.Participates and develops the training programs offered to increase technical, interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency related to the project to which assigned.Utilizes tact and exercises good judgment in interacting with school and central office personnel and provides content knowledge and expertise.Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follow federal laws, state laws, school board policies and the professional standards.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution with three or more years of related technical experience.Expertise and experience in the assigned technical disciplines. Experience in managing the design and implementation of 2-3 moderately large or moderately complex projects or operational units. Ability to achieve objectives.Experience as a grade reporter or master scheduler preferred. Must demonstrate knowledge of the connection between scheduling and strategic resourcing.Detailed knowledge of high school graduation requirements, student promotion policies, school data policies and procedures related to attendance, grade reporting, scheduling.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical audiences, in conducting formal presentations and preparing reports.Demonstrated leadership potential.Operational knowledge and experience with student information systems such as Infinite Campus and creation of school master schedule, scheduling of student classes (K-12).
