Position Summary
SURVICE Engineering
is currently seeking a
FEA/Computational Engineer
in support of the National Ground Intelligence Center. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Execute modeling and simulation methodologies using standard and advanced finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes to conduct analyses involving predictions of material/armor performance against various kinetic weapons.
Types of analyses performed can include, but not be limited to, modeling of penetrator degradation, residual penetrator energy, behind armor debris characterization and component damage/penetration.
Minimum Qualifications of FEA/Computational EngineerBachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.
Computational analyst with direct or related experience in FEA and/or CFD in the areas of fragmentation, penetration, armor systems, and/or threat characterization.
Familiarity with CAD and CAD software packages (e.g., ProE or SolidWorks).
Experience with CTH (or equivalent hydrocode).
Experience with mesh generation and development of complex geometries at the component and system level.
Experience working in High-Performance Computing (HPC) system environments.
Bonus:
knowledge of military systems (foreign and U.S.), live-fire testing and analysis, and/or verification and validation techniques and procedures.
