Staff, Resident Network EngineerOffice / Customer Location: Atlanta, GeorgiaJoin a dynamic team in the enterprise sector of Juniper Networks and work alongside the best and brightest in the networking industry.You will be responsible to work side-by-side supporting ICE/NYSE operations.The Resident Engineer is an integral part of our mission within the enterprise sector, providing post-sales support of Juniper Networks products for Juniper Marquis accounts. You will be part of a customer account that has experienced high, steady growth over the past few years. As an Extended Expertise Engineer, you will be the trusted advisor to our customers working on-site supporting our mission to help them quickly and completely adopt the Juniper portfolio of products. This is a highly technical role, and you will develop and maintain expert-level skill sets on our products and solutions deployed within the customer's environment.Required Skills Experience:
7 - 10 years of design, implementation, and operational experience in large-scale IP networks.Learn, understand & fully align with the customer's business requirements.JUNOS Security / SRX CLI experience.Understanding of Juniper hardware SRX, MX, EX, and QFXs.JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE a strong plus.Prior Work experience at a large enterprise or a Data Center w EVPN/VXLAN experienceExperience with core routing BGP, OSPF, ISIS protocols.Experience with MPLS, VPLS, L2VPNs.Experience with design and/or deployment of routing and switching products within the Customer infrastructure.IPv6, Multicast, L3VPNs, L2CircuitsExperience in fault isolation logic and techniques.Ability to communicate effectively in crisis situations with all levels of an organization from Engineering/Operations to CIO/CISO audiences.Ability to refine and translate complex requirements and execute best practice solutions.Assist with major network upgrades/Maintenance windows or changes in the customer network.Strong customer interface and presentation skills.Customer education - TOI's and Lunch & Learns.Other tasks and duties as needed to support the customer and/or business.Qualifications/Experience
8+ years of success in a similar post-sales role working for a vendor or a customer.Experience as a Professional Services Engineer, Consultant, or IT/operations EngineeringPrior experience with scripting or programming languages including Python, SLAX, and NETCONF, and experience with automation frameworks such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or others.Understanding of Juniper hardware SRX, MX, EX, and QFXsExperience with core routing BGP, OSPF, ISIS protocolsExperience with MPLS, VPLS, L2VPNs, and EVPN/VXLANExperience with design and/or deployment of routing and switching products within the Customer infrastructure.IPv6, Multicast, L3VPNs, L2CircuitsHold design and information gathering workshops with the customer to understand the customer's existing network design and technical requirements.Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex multivariate problems and find a systematic approach to gain a quick resolution, often under duress.Mature and effective time-management skillsWorking experience with customers, consulting, team lead, configuring and fixing network infrastructure security productsDeep understanding of security, networking, authentication, and MPLS architecturesDemonstrated ability to lead cross-departmental collaboration on strategic initiatives.Demonstrated ability to deliver large, complex solution opportunities.Strong communication and follow-up skillsExpert level Technical Certifications a plus/ JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIEMinimum Education: Bachelor of Science degreeTravel up to 20% (post COVID) within the US to customer sites for operations reviews and required meetings.Minimum Salary:
$108,160.00Maximum Salary:
$155,480.00The pay range for this position is expected to be between $108,160.00 and $155,480.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
