Sr. Network Security Engineer

Description:Provide security services support for the clients Palo Alto Firewalls environment. Respond to operational requests day-to-day and act as the second level of escalation for incident resolution. Working closely with the Security Manager to review new technologies and standards and assist with the development of SOP's, runbooks, and other Operational resources for the security team. Monitor traffic logs and create security related reports, setting of network monitor thresholds and general oversight of the network security health.This Role Performs:Design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and security components, including network monitoring systemsManagement of all security equipment supporting the enterprise for both project and operational requirementsEvaluation of new network and security technologyAnalysis of firewall policies and configuration to ensure they are in use, least privilege and satisfy business requirementsReview and completion of firewall requestsTest network and security systemsMonitor and resolve network incidents on a 24X7 basisThe position maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and security hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls and gatewaysRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience on network & cyber securityIf not bachelor's degree, Highschool plus 15 years' experience will sufficePCNSA and/or PCNSE certificationsStrong experience with Palo Alto NGFW security productsPalo Alto Panorama & FirewallsGlobal ProtectsExperience designing and deploying security technologiesExperience designing and deploying load balancer and remote access solutionsExperience managing large application build and move projectsStrong background with Service and Change ManagementDesired Qualifications:Experience with Palo Alto Panorama, Firewalls, Prisma, Imperva's WAFAbility to present very complex technical concepts in understandable languagePossession of excellent oral and written communication skillsCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)Experience creating and presenting project plans and designsSkills:Security, Information security, firewall, paloalto, PCNSA, PCNSESchedule:

In general this is a Full Time On Site position. Hours are 7:30 - 5:30 on a 9/80 work schedule. Currently team is in a hybrid work mode. So only has to be on site 3 days a week. But this will go back to Full Time On Site once construction of new office space is complete. Driving - Some driving to other sites within the City of Irvine (within a mile) may be required. This is a rare occurrence but may be needed. Must have access to an automobile. On Call and any remote days will be worked from candidate's home.Experience Level:
