News Producer

KOMO/KUNS has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts. This position will also work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors on the newscast and its content. You will determine the content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develop content for our website.
The ideal candidate will have:
Solid news judgmentCompelling and accurate writing skillsAbility to multitask and manage time to produce an exciting and informative newscastAbility to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environmentStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscastsFlexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilitiesProficiency with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews
Experience:
At least 2 years producing a daily newscastA 4-year journalism degree is preferred

The hourly compensation range for this role is $28.69 to $35.09. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and an employee stock purchase plan.
