MCNEESE STATE UNIVERSITY is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Nursing in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.

POSITION INFORMATION: This is a full-time, 9-month, unclassified, tenure-track position. The appointment begins in August 2024.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor, a faculty member in the Undergraduate Nursing Degree Program, has responsibilities that include but are not limited to: administration, teaching, university/community service, and research/scholarly work. Specific duties include: implementing University and College policies and procedures; implementing the program curricula; participating in curriculum and course planning, implementation, and evaluation; student advisement; mentoring; assisting in evaluating clinical settings and experiences related to the course and student learning needs; planning clinical experiences for students and evaluating the clinical competence of students; serves on University and College of Nursing committees; participates in the community by offering volunteer services and/or offering consultation and/or in-service education to clinical agencies or community agencies/organizations; and initiates and/or participates in nursing research activities.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

Required:

* Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nursing are required. * Academic preparation includes degree specialization, specialty coursework, or other preparation sufficient to address the qualifications. * At least two years of clinical practice are required in the nursing field of expertise and current, unencumbered licensure in the state of Louisiana.

Desired:

* Doctorate in Nursing or related field preferred.
