Dialysis Clinical Technician Detroit NW- 20 Hours/Week Day Shift

Northwest Detroit Lasher Dialysis is a unit attached to an outpatient dialysis facility .
The facility oversees peritoneal and home dialysis patients. Census is 3 PD patients.
Staffed with full-time Nephrologists.
In addition, we have a full-time and part-time Home Nurses and travel pool home dialysis technicians. In addition, the unit has multiple support staff members that are shared with the outpatient clinic including front desk team and tech leader staff ( machine maintenance) that may assist with operational duties within the clinic.
We case manage several patients who are monitored by connected health for Baxter and NxStage systems. Patients are trained to perform dialysis treatments at home within the clinic. PD training takes 7-10 days and HHD training takes 4-6 weeks. The home team schedules monthly clinic visits for all home patients with the interdisciplinary team and lab draws for PD patients. Our team provides pt education as well as referrals to transplant services for sites the pt requests to be referred to.
The unit is typically open Monday through Friday 8am to 430pm for pt care hours with some flexibility based on the needs of the clinic. Home Nurses are scheduled to take daily after hour on-call including weekends. The home clinic is closed most weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the clinic ( training or clinical need for a patient ).

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under supervision of nursing staff, is responsible for the monitoring and direct care of patients on hemodialysis. Monitors patients on an ongoing basis and communicates information to appropriate team member. Works as a member of the interdisciplinary team caring for the dialysis patient.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Nursing Assistant (NA), Medical Assistant (MA), or other healthcare experience preferred. Must successfully complete the Greenfield Health Systems dialysis training program, as a condition of continued employment.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
As a condition of continued employment, certification as a dialysis technician must be obtained (and maintained) within designated timeline of 18 months, in accordance with federal regulation.
