We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Dialysis Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for helping individuals with kidney disease. As a Clinical Dialysis Technician, you will play a vital role in providing dialysis treatments and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
This position is full time. The working schedule is (4) 10 hour shifts per week (share hours) . There is a weekend and holiday rotation (share weekend/holiday rotation) .
GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Perform dialysis treatments according to prescribed protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition.
- Set up and operate dialysis machines, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.
- Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documenting treatment activities and patient progress.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in the dialysis unit.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dialysis technician training program preferred.
- As a condition of continued employment, certification as a dialysis technician must be obtained (and maintained) within designated timeline of 18 months, in accordance with federal regulation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
