Position Summary
Summary:The Physician Assistant assists in any function relating to the diagnosis and treatment of patients, under the supervision of an attending physician, within the practice the hospital. The Physician Assistant is concerned with preventing, maintaining, and treating human illness and injury by providing a broad range of health care services that are traditionally performed by a physician. The Physician Assistant conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and write prescriptions.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:Education Required• Must complete in-house orientation program• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.• Certified, or eligible for certification, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Experience And Skills• Current demonstrated competence and an adequate level of current experience, documenting the ability to provide services at an acceptable level of quality and efficiency.• Experience and/or skills in area of practice.• Good oral and written communication skills.• Good interpersonal skills.• Good problem solving and analytical skill
License/Certifications• Current NYS Physician Assistant Licensure/Registration.• Certified, or eligible for certification, by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants• Continuing Education Units: CME as required by NYS to maintain licensure• BLS
Working Conditions
Other information:Working Conditions• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn• Frequent, prolonged standing/walking.• Lifts, positions and/or transfers patients/equipment.
