DEFINITION: This position supports the Structured English Immersion (SEI) Teachers by managing compliance paperwork, student records, assessments, and classroom support for Multi Lingual (ML) students. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to collaboratEe with registrars, teachers, parents, and support staff. Flexibility to adapt to new responsibilities, including in-class support, is essential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
* Assists teachers with students in classroom setting; provide instructional support for students; monitors student behavior and performance; assists in preparing lesson plans; maintains records of attendance, attends required workshops and meetings.* Assists teacher by making copies, filing paperwork, organizing materials for daily teachings; monitors students before and after school and during lunch; ensures a healthy and safe environment for the students; documents any student-related incidents or injuries; performs other duties as assigned.* Records and Compliance: Maintain ML student files, including scores and forms to ensure Title III compliance.* Testing Coordination: Administer AZELLA Placement and Reassessment Tests; maintain records and coordinate schedules with staff.* Student Orientation: Provides new ML students with essential information and resources to help them transition smoothly into their new school environment.* Team Collaboration: Participate in regular meetings with the SEI Teachers, LAD Liaison, and other support staff to coordinate support efforts and ensure alignment of strategies to meet the needs of Multilingual Learners.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge Federal and State rules, regulations and laws governing teaching in a school environment.
Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Knowledge of early childhood learning methods and techniques.
Skill in monitoring and assisting students.
Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Work requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and may be required to do some lifting. May be exposed to infectious diseases.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in records management, educational compliance, and collaboration.
Ability to work flexibly with the SEI Lead Teacher and support ML students in various capacities.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred: Childcare or Classroom experience; additional coursework or certifications
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary Grade: B Hourly Pay: $15.55 Hours per Day: 7 Days: 195 Start Date: 2024/2025 School Year
